Sustainability at Indro

At Indro, sustainability is embedded into how we operate every day. From centre‑wide recycling initiatives to smarter waste solutions in our amenities and food precincts, we’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint and making it easier for our community to do the same.

Across the centre, dedicated recycling and waste‑sorting systems help divert materials away from landfill, including food and organic waste streams in our food court. Smart recycling technology, such as AI‑assisted waste‑sorting stations, supports correct disposal and helps reduce contamination across recycling, organics and general waste streams. 

Indro also supports Queensland’s Containers for Change program, with convenient collection points located throughout the centre, turning everyday recycling into tangible community impact while reducing waste sent to landfill. All proceeds collected are donated to charity partner Communify. 

Behind the scenes, we continuously review and improve our sustainability practices, from waste management systems to amenity products and operational processes. By working closely with partners, retailers and our community, we’re focused on creating a cleaner, more sustainable shopping experience today and into the future.
