About Containers for Change
Launched on 1 November 2018, Containers for Change is Queensland’s statewide initiative designed to reduce litter and boost recycling rates. The program rewards participants with a 10c refund for each eligible drink container returned.
Since its introduction, Queenslanders have embraced the scheme, recycling more than 5 billion containers and earning over $5 million in refunds. This community-driven effort is making a significant difference to our environment and helping keep our state beautiful.
