MEET THE LADIES FROM LUSH

Founded in 1975 in the UK, and making its way down under in 1997, LUSH is most well-known for their colourful bath-bombs and delicious smelling lotions and creams. We sat down with the Store Manager Claire, and Trainee Manager Chey, to get to know a little bit more about what makes LUSH Indooroopilly so special.

Claire has worked at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre for over 15 years and grew up with Indro as her local, whilst Chey has worked at the biggest LUSH store globally on Oxford Street in the UK. The girls describe Indro as a little community, both with their store neighbours and customers, and  insist “There is no other centre like it!”. We agree! The girls describe the LUSH Indro team of 12 as a unique group of incredible and diverse humans, who all possess excellent banter skills.

When asked what their favourite LUSH products were, the votes were unanimous, with Dream Cream the clear winner. The girls recommend this body lotion for everyone, but especially those who have Eczema or dry skin. It’s also hard to say no to the dreamy lavender and chamomile scent of this beauty!

While they’re not at work, you’ll find the girls “air-frying everything in existence (shout out to Kmart) and telling everyone about the joys of microdermabrasion (shout out to Shaver Shop)”. Claire also loves to make little crafts for her free craft street library and Chey does a spot of DJing and band merch collecting.

Whilst customers may recognise LUSH for their animal-loving, eco-friendly values, we were interested to hear more about the company’s focus on ethical buying.   Since 2005 LUSH has been sourcing rose absolute and rose oil directly from producers in Senir, Turkey. They work with over 3000 local farmers, distilling world-class oil and absolute from the petals of the native Damask roses. The premium paid on every kilogram of oil goes towards the running  (and  initial construction)  of a local primary school in Senir.

Every ingredient sold has a story worth reading about, and we encourage you to check out their website!
